Question about a first car?

so, my uncle is in management for a man that owns several different dealerships. My uncle said that he could get us a good deal on pretty much anything we wanted since he goes to auction. well, ive got some good ideas of what i want for my first car. no, im afraid its not a BMW or a Mercedes or something as classy as that. i want a car that is reliable, safe, and fuel efficient. it doesnt have to have all the bells and whistles. here are a list of cars that i am interested in, and please tell me what you think would be better as far as reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, and overall looks.
- 2007 to 2010 Toyota Camry SE
- 2008 to 2010 Toyota Corolla
- 2006 to 2010 Honda Civic
- 2006 to 2010 Honda Accord
- 2006 to 2010 Mazda6
- 2006 to 2010 Mazda3
- 2007 to 2010 Nissan Altima
- 2008 to 2010 Ford Fusion
- 2008 to 2010 Chevrolet Malibu
- 2006 to 2010 Scion Tc

personally, my favorite is the camry SE. i know it doesnt look like a “proper” first car. but to me, it looks great, its okay on fuel, and its safe. for the most part. i know there was an open recall on the newer models, but i’d have to check into it.

I would go with the new ford… apparently they are better in fuel economy than anything else right now. (for that class of car)

You will hate this answer and me but, please consider getting a 1987 Toyota Corolla, it is reliable, goes on and on, and it doesn’t guzzle like a bitch. It has a nice set up with climate control and all of that stuff. I love this car :)

The Camry seems like an excellent choice. I had a 1969 Toyota Corona Deluxe that I drove for 476,000 miles. Finally lost control of it on an icy bridge one morning and sort of rounded all of the corners off the car bouncing off the guardrails—but it was always dependable and economical to operate.

It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
